In September 2023, Larissa had the opportunity to meet Tyler Joersz, one of the two founders of TYDE Music. During this first encounter, she played a Redwood tenor ukulele and immediately fell in love with its sound, craftsmanship, and feel. From that moment, a connection was formed that would grow far beyond a single meeting.
Shortly after, Larissa began a nearly two-year project together with Tyler Joersz and Devin Price, the other founder of TYDE Music: the creation of a custom baritone ukulele built from koa wood and myrtlewood, featuring Larissa’s personal signature as an inlay. Instrument number 241 was ultimately named “Rucola Risa” — Larissa, as the first European ambassador of TYDE Music, is accompanied on her journeys around the world by its warm tonewoods and rich sound, supporting her percussive playing.
TYDE Music was founded in 2010 by self-taught luthiers Tyler Joersz and Devin Price. Starting with ukuleles made from leftover materials, their passion for music and craftsmanship grew into a full instrument-making company.
Music remains at the heart of their work, bringing together art, history, and skill in instruments that inspire players worldwide.
